Apple's M3 arrives in 2024 with more cores and considerably higher performance

According to test logs from a third-party Mac app developer, Apple's upcoming M3 Max chip will have four more CPU cores and two more GPU cores compared to its M2 Max predecessor. That makes 16 CPU cores and 40 GPU cores. The base M3 model is said to have 8 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores, while the Pro will have 12 and 18, respectively. No changes there. The M3 Max SoC will have 48GB of shared memory and will be considerably faster in most applications compared to the M2 Max.
