Analysts predict HTC to ship 40 million units in 2011, says paper

Analysts are projecting smartphone vendor HTC to ship 40 million units in 2011, up from 20 million units in 2010, according a report by the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN). HTC's global shipments in the first three quarters of 2010 reached 16 million units, which already exceeded 2009's total of 11 million units, said company CEO Peter Chou, adding that shipment forecast for the fourth quarter will be released on the October 29 investors meeting.
