Samsung's Metal 12 magnesium alloy coming to phones and watches too

The Samsung Notebook 9 (2018) launched with a new material dubbed Metal 12. A trademark filing at EUIPO suggests that this magnesium allow will be used for phones, watches, mobile accessories and even home appliances. The new Notebook 9 weighs 1kg (2.2lbs), which puts this 13.3" laptop in the featherweight category. Much of this is attributed to the Metal 12.
