Commentary: Weakening competition allows Apple to play safe with iPhone 5

Apple has finally launched the much-anticipated iPhone 5 with upgraded hardware and software specifications as compared to its predecessor, but not delivering any breakthroughs in terms of technology and design. However, industry watchers believe that Apple will be able to continue maintaining its leadership position as well as profitability thanks to weakening competition in the smartphone market.
