Who Wants to Do a Group Fly & Buy?

Are you sick of being ripped off? I know I am tired of being scammed... I have a supplier who can arrange for a fly and buy in the U.S. (She is reliable as she has fulfilled a couple of drop-ship orders for me recently). As of 6/25/08, she mentioned that she can get 200 units of the Apple 8GB iPhone LOCKED version for a customer of mine that requested this amount. (The 16GB version is also available). Here are the prices: 8GB ($450 USD) and 16GB ($525). (Also, I have asked her, on behalf of another customer if she can scare up another 300 units, but I haven\'t heard back on that yet). Unfortunately, the problem is, in order to initiate the fly and buy, she is requiring a $2500 USD deposit to ensure that the customers come to the warehouse. (She has been burned before, and I completely understand her position). So, here is what I propose...If anybody is interested in participating in a group fly and buy (and doesn\'t mind sharing in the responsibility of the $2500 deposit nor signing a Purchase Agreement with me), I can set it up within the next week and a half (depending on when I get the deposit rounded up and have all the signed Purchase Agreements). I would need to get her the deposit first before she tells her rep to \"rattle the trees\" for all available units, but whatever portion of the deposit you provide would go towards your first order. (Please be advised that she needs 7 days notice after receipt of the deposit to round up all the units that you want). Anyways, if you are interested, please contact me. I cannot fully say that my motives are completely altruistic (obviously I am looking to get paid by having you sign a Purchase Agreement), but I do want to help those who are looking for a reliable source for these phones, and who are sick of being ripped off. Also, you would need to find your own method of transportation (or arrange for a freight company to inspect) to the location.

this smells fishy. I can\'t think of a reason why she would ask for a deposit for fly and buy. And the prices seem too low as well.

OK we work direct with 1 of the 3 AUTH nokia dealers in the US. And i have been in this business for several years. If the person really has these phones then there is no reason for a deposit. Why does she need a deposit to insure you will show up? she has already put up the money for the phones so wether or not you show she still spent the money either way. If you dont show she is not out anything more then she is right now. NO one asks for deposits for fly and buy. I would ask for POS before flying though. One of my nokia customers is an apple wholesaler and she has stated over and over to me that with the new iphone 3g only true iphone wholesalers can get the phone. if she has 300 ok but she should be able to provide proof up front and plenty of it. When someone asks me for POS i send 10-15 pictures. Also just because someone sends you phones with todays newspaper in front of it means nothing. I can do that but that doesnt mean the phones are real or that they are even there when you get there. Just be very careful iphones are the biggest scam in the cell phone industry right now.
