China market: Smartphone sales to top 500-600 million units in 2014, says MediaTek president

Sales of smartphones in China are expected to top 500-600 million units in 2014, an increase of 25-50% from 400 million units projected for 2013, according to estimates from Hsieh Ching-chiang, president of MediaTek.
