Digitimes Insight: Taiwan handset shipments grow less than 10% in 2Q11; HTC has more than 50% share

Despite that Taiwan-based handset makers High Tech Computer (HTC) and Arima Communication continued to enjoy strong shipment growth in the second quarter, Taiwan's overall handset shipments for the quarter grew less than 10% sequentially due to most other Taiwan handset ODMs seeing their existing orders depleted as their handset brand clients are gradually phasing related handset models out of the market, while most of their new orders are only in small quantity, according to senior analyst Luke Lin for Digitimes Research.
