China handset brands penetrate own chips into midrange models

Chinese handset vendors Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi continue to strengthen in-house development of chipsets for greater product differentiation, and they are moving to expand the penetration of such chipsets by incorporating them into midrange models, according to industry sources.
