Beware of Firstmark Traders Company

Dear Sir/Madam,
 
We inform you of the questionable business practices of the following company:
Firstmark Traders Limited (Avlonos 1 –Maria House, Nicosia 1075, Cyprus).

On 22.04.2010 we have placed a purchase at said firm for 50 Apple iPad 16GB Wi-Fi (brand new products, with all accessories, in original box) for a total value of 32 250 US$, CIF. The following day, 23.04.2010, the total sum was transferred into Firstmark Traders Limited account. The shipment was sent on 27.04.2010, according to the CMR. That said shipment never arrived. After realizing that too much time has passed and the products have not arrived we decided to again contact Firstmark Traders Limited and ask for explanations regarding the delay. At that moment we found out that the products had been stolen while on transit in Bulgaria. We understood the problem and requested that either another shipment be sent or the paid sum be returned. Although the shipment had been assured by Firstmark Traders Limited, and they would be able to receive compensation for the stolen products from the assurance company, they refused both of our proposals (either make another delivery or return the paid sum) and declared that they will only return the paid sum when they will receive the compensation from the assurance company, thus not providing any timeframe for the return of the specified sum.
Having presented this situation we recommend you to avoid any future purchases from Firstmark Traders Limited,
hoping that this will make them adapt their business practices to more honorable standards utilized in other parts of the EU.
