Nokia's first touch screen phone

Tardively or better finally, Nokia announced a new touch screen-based device aiming the mid-range handset segments and the youth market.
Nokia XpressMusic 5800 screen's measure 3.2 inches and has a 640 x 360 pixels for QVGA resolution.
"It uses touch-resistance (not touch-capacitance) technology for the touch screen and haptic feedback."

The impact of a slowing global economy has been stronger on the mid-range handset segments, as compared with the high- and low-end segments, indicated Tsung-kai Cheng, manager of Nokia Taiwan's clients and market operations. With distributors not confident about sales of mid-range handsets, Cheng pointed out that Nokia is planning to adjust related prices in coordination with more market promotions to stimulate consumer demand.

Releasing this new line of products of which Nokia XpressMusic 5800 is the first to come, will surely boost sales as I'm sure Nokia fans were very disappointed about not having a touch screen-based device to play with.
