MediaTek 4Q10 handset-chip shipments to revert to peak level, says paper

MediaTek's total handset IC shipments will likely return to a peak level of 20 million units per month in the fourth quarter of 2010, buoyed by strategic price cuts for 2G solutions, and intensified procurement by clients ahead of the Lunar New Year, the Chinese-language Commercial Times has reported, citing market sources.
