China August mobile phone user base grows to over 1.072 billion

There were 1.07224 billion subscribers of mobile communication services in China as of the end of August 2012, growing 0.96% on month and 14.06% on year, 192.56 million (17.96%) of which were 3G users, according to statistics published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
